Here's a copy of a polite anti-spam form letter I sent today. In this case it went to
PacBell who I don't really expect to hear back from. It's usually the smaller
operators who are thankful of the notice and take the issue seriously. In those cases
they almost always fix the problem and that removes one more spam relay point from the
world. It's best to CC the original sender or other concerned parties when you send
the note.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Send it from a "whiteholed" address so they can reply. For instance
I send it from my "postmaster@" address, which does not block any spam. If you don't
have a whitehole'd address, get a public address such as a yahoo e-mail account.
Also, if anyone has a FAQ on SPAM feel free to include this sample letter. It would
be nice to mention where it came from. :)
