For starters I believe your server name in the general prefs should be
something to the effect of backup.owndomain.com so that it doesn't try to
deliver owndomain.com locally. (anyone?)

Then in your router have:

owndomain.com=owndomain.com.smtp


If you have any additional domains (yours or others that you may be
providing backup services for):

Then add additional entries besides the one above for the additional
domains:

AdditionalDomain1=AdditionalDomain1.com.smtp
AdditionalDomain2=AdditionalDomain2.com.smtp
AdditionalDomain3=AdditionalDomain3.com.smtp

It's that simple.  Perhaps you're thinking it's more complicated than it
is?
