Is there a possibility you are sending not from the IP which was added to the SIMS 
Client Hosts list and relayed messages were accepted just because you logged to your 
account recently (using a POP mailer)?

Try setting the SMTP log level to All Info - you will see then in the logs why a relay 
was accepted or not.
