My mail server has, again, transmitted a virus to all subscribers of a mail list (AutoShare). In trying to figure out how to stop this, I read here that setting up NAV to scan the incoming mail folder would cause the mail to be scanned before Autoshare does its thing with it. Well, the problem is that NAV will not catch PC viruses! Since most of my subscribers have PeeCees, NAV is virtually useless in this situation. So I need help.
Can someone tell me how, if it is possible, to solve this problem? One idea I had was to mount the SIMS directory with a PC with NAV, and have it scan the incoming mail directory. Does anyone have experience with this? What I would like to do is to have a Windows machine running NAV scan the directory, then have the Mac scan it. To be certain the scans take place, I really would like each file scanned and then moved to another directory. Is there any way to do this? Or do I need to give up running my own mail server and list server? Charles L. Martin 123 N.
