Has anybody made this work? What if I put the following in the OS 9 Hosts file:
12.13.140.203.any.old.domain A 127.0.0.2 In SIMS, I would tell it to use RBLDNS host "any.old.domain". In this case I want to block 203.140.13.12 (just made this IP up!) This should be lightning fast if it resolves because it won't require a DNS lookup. If it does not resolve, it could be a problem, so it is probably best to point "any.old.domain" to a non-existent sub domain of your own. Am I playing with fire here? Does Open Transport reload the Hosts file from time-to-time or does it load at start up and then ignore? That would defeat my purpose since I want to be able to automate additions to the Hosts file. Alternatively, is there a cheap (as in free) DNS that can run with SIMS to provide RBLDNS service? It would be nice if it was Apple Scriptable for additions. -- Neil Neil Herber, RGD Corporate info at http://www.eton.ca/ Eton Systems, 15 Pinepoint Drive, Nepean, ON, Canada K2H 6B1 Tel: (613) 829-4668 ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
