I know so I swapped NULL for ERROR ;)   but I thought the difference 
was error gave a response (user not known) and NULL did nothing but 
erase the message?

well I've changed all my NULL entries to ERROR again, and we'll see 
what happens tomorrow (hes fairly regular this SPAMmer)
