Do you have your email client set to keep messages on the server?  If so, 
then what has happened is that the messages were in the mailbox, then 
when you connected with a different config (i.e. for @domB.com) your 
client thought (and, from its point-of-view, correctly) that this was a 
different mailbox and downloaded all the messages in it (even those that 
it had from the other account previously downloaded).
