Yes.  That is how it works.

Could you give more details about the router you have, please.  When you 
say "earthlink router" I assume you mean a router that Earthlink has 
given you as part of the service, and you have no access to configure 
that router yourself.

If you do not have a router;  but, Earthlink has given you a SDSL "modem" 
then the single static IP would be assigned to the computer running the 
Vicomsoft gateway software.  In this case the situation is quite simple.

If in fact it is a router, it might still be possible to use a few tricks 
and achieve what you wish to;  but, it depends on the capabilities of the 
router (and, my assumption above is correct, if Earthlink will either 
give you "control" of the router and/or configure it for you).
