At 8:11 AM -0600 11/14/02, Chris Wagner imposed structure on a stream of electrons, yielding:
I have a user here who is trying to send out mail to a box that is setup to run with Macjordomo here on our SIMS box.

I looked at the log after she said she had difficulty with sending to that particular box and this is a snip from it, with the error codes.

07:37:16 2 SMTP-173([10.1.1.4]) {S.0000188699} received, 2067 bytes
07:37:16 2 SYSTEM [S.0000188699] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 0+1 From:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
07:37:16 1 SYSTEM [S.0000188699] failed to open ditribution list 'ambassadors'. Error Code=-43
07:37:16 1 SYSTEM(POP) [S.0000188699] failed on (ambassadors). Error Code=-43

What does this mean and is there something (obviously on my part) that I can change to fix it?

-43 is a MacOS 'File Not Found' error.

You can fix it by recreating that file that you trashed. You know, the one called 'ambassadors@L' that was just a bunch of addresses... :)

If in fact you did not trash such a file (or an alias pointing to such a file in some Macjordomo directory?) it might be that a disk corruption is getting in the way of SIMS being able to read the file. An interlude with Disk First Aid and/or your favorite commercial disk repair utility may be called for.
