Aftering trying to port scan from my SMTP server to smtp-gw-4.msn.com I could not, so I have changed the IP of my SMTP server and now I can send mail.On 01/30/03 at 16:22, Jeff Logan opined:I have turned up the log level to "all info" and will post some details later. But here is what I finally get back from msn.com when a mail is returned.Actually, the bounce looks like it's coming from your own server (Reporting-MTA: dns; smtp.insideout.com). The headers would tell you for sure.:::: Failed Mail Message :::: Failed to deliver your message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]: SMTP: The host does not maintain the SMTP mail service Cannot speak with 'smtp-gw-4.msn.com' for 2 hours. Reporting-MTA: dns; smtp.insideout.com Final-Recipient: rfc822; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Action: failed Status: 5.0.0 :::: Failed Mail Message :::: Any ideas? The account is active and valid and works, so I am baffed on what is going on.If the recipient account were inactive or non-existent, you'd get a bounce from msn.com citing an 'unknown user' error. The line 'Cannot speak with 'smtp-gw-4.msn.com' for 2 hours' indicates that your server is having trouble connecting to the msn.com server. FWIW, I can connect successfully to smtp-gw-4.msn.com on port 25 from where I am.
Why would MSN.com block my IP address from sending email? I am not a spammer, nor do I or have I have had an open relay.
