Really now. I did not know that (I've always deleted the account to send a 'user unknown' back). Good tip.

Here are some more tips (or stupid SIMS tricks, with apologies to Letterman).

I have created two accounts, one called "full" and one called "closed". The "closed" account has Account Enabled turned off and the "full" account is set to save mail in a mailbox with 0K space.

If I want to play head games with spammers or general idiots, I create router records that point to these real accounts as in:

<iclosedthisaccountagesago> = closed
<ifthiswasrealitwouldbefull> = full

Alternatively, if I really want to keep a copy of the mail but make it look like it bounced, I leave the real account active and saving mail to a mailbox, but I also make it reflect the mail to either "closed" or "full". The sender gets a closed or full message - I get to keep a copy of the mail.

Someone who knows what they are doing will see fishy looking bounces from these tricks, but most idiots don't know what they are doing. ;->
