Hello, I am setting up SIMS to run using multiple domains on a machine
running MacOS 9.2. I'm testing my setup using one account and one domain.
Specifically, my server own name is dsl092-115-164.nyc2.dsl.speakeasy.net. I
have two users set up: Anibal and Postmaster. I configure the routing as
hcadigital.com = dsl092-115-164.nyc2.dsl.speakeasy.net
Mail.hcadigital.com = dsl092-115-164.nyc2.dsl.speakeasy.net
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> = anibal
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> = postmaster
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> = postmaster
The MX record for hcadigital.com is
@ IN MX 10 dsl092-115-164.nyc2.dsl.speakeasy.net.
On the client side (Entourage for Mac), I set up the account ID as Anibal
and the POP and SMTP servers as dsl092-115-164.nyc2.dsl.speakeasy.net.
I am able to send mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] However, I am not able
to retrieve messages sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I telneted to the POP server and I received the proper reply. Also, I ran a
DNS report on hcadigital.com at www.dnsreport.com and everything came back
fine except for a warning in the acceptance of abuse test that said:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARNING: One or more of your mailservers does not accept mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Mailservers are expected by RFC2142 to accept mail to
abuse.
dsl092-115-164.nyc2.dsl.speakeasy.net's abuse response:
>>> RCPT TO: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
<<< 550 user unknown.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I ran a mail test on anibal, postmaster and abuse, all at hcadigital.com at
www.dnsreport.com and anibal and postmaster came back ok, but abuse came
back a user unknown response.
What am I doing wrong? If there is a problem with the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
account, why do I not get a bounce when I send it an email? Please help for
I am anxious to start using SIMS!
TIA, Anibal Escobar
Thank
