Bounce was the wrong word. I just want to reject them at the server. Route them to error or similar. I agree actually bouncing them would be a bad idea (I don't want to double up my traffic OR confirm that the address is good... in fact I want the opposite, I want all people who send me an email using my bosses name at my address to think that the address is no good so it may auto clean itself from spam lists). >But could it not be done using an intermediary application - just >like Baton Mail ;-)) - to get the messages, look at them and discard >them if they meet your "spam criteria"? Such an app could run on the >server where SIMS is, and use a different port than SIMS. If the mail >client can be set to use a different port, it would connect to the >small app, which in turn asks SIMS on the standard mail port for new >messages. Well, sure, but that would make me get off my butt and get back to work on Baton Mail (filtering is one of the items on my feature list, but that would involve inbound support... which is of course also on the list). :-) Looks like I'll just have to do a client level filter to route all the emails to the trash. I don't get the rejection I wanted to the spammers, but at least I won't have to look at them anymore. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
