I'm finally getting back to tweaking my installation of Trebor's Obnoxious Lunchmeat Detector (TOLD), and there are two areas that I'm having trouble thinking through. Those are when the SIMS router is used to point multiple email addresses to a single account. The most common instance of this in my server is when a commonly used account name like "info" or "webmaster" is routed to different accounts based on the domain name.
Here's how TOLD routing works. The topmost line in the routing sequence is:
<TOLD.*>[EMAIL PROTECTED]
After that, enter the following lines for each account that you want to filter:
<account1> = TOLD TOLD.account1=<local>account1
Mail to account1 goes to the TOLD folder. TOLD monitors that folder and processes whatever comes in there and dumps the processed mail into a separate folder. A variation on the StripMime script takes the TOLDed mail and appends "TOLD." to the TO:, CC: and BCC: addresses. The mail is then dumped back into the SIMS Submitted folder for final delivery.
So when mail to a normal account called account1 comes in, it goes through TOLD and StripMime and comes out as TOLD.account1. It hits that first and changes to [EMAIL PROTECTED], which then hits the last routing line above to become FilteredByTOLD at LOCAL(account1), delivering the filtered mail to account1.
Somewhere along the line, this breaks down for routed addresses. And I'm not sure where or why. The modified StripMime script is working with the recipient's account names in the resource fork...
Any clues as to how to figure this out will be appreciated. I have some unused domains I can play with.
