Using BBEdit on your file, save it with DOS line breaks and see is it will send it. The file should look something like this:
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] BCC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: unsubscribe
message body
I think the only mandatory header lines are TO and FROM. The rest are optional. SIMS will insert the date for you.
