Shane has successfully proven the impossibility of guaranteeing goal
achievement using the example of sequence prediction. One wonders what
the next best thing might be.

In my professional life I have judged my colleagues by two things:

A) By their intention to do a good job.
B) By their willingness to do the best they can.

Not by the outcome of their efforts. I therefore propose to focus on
these aspects as well when judging an AGI:

Prove that an AGI's goals are friendly.
Prove that the AIG is using it's resources optimally to achieve these goals.
