You are, of course, right that we need to get rid of popular
misconceptions in our own thinking. However, simply negating
everything the public says is unlikely to produce anything useful.
I did say that this was only a summary - a position statement - and that
the detailed arguments would be laid out in future posts.
I think it is important to state the position.
I did not expect it to be much news to you folks, it was directed at a
broader audience.
