Subject: [Sip-implementors] Session
Timer: Support header in 200 OK response
Hello everybody,
suppose I have a device supporting and requaring the Session-Timer
feature.
It sends an INVITE message
including the following headers.
INVITE
.....
.......
Require: timer
Supported: timer
Session-Expire: 3000, refresher=uac
[ABN] :: Mandating session timer @
UAS like this is not a good idea. Otherwise 200 OK without session-Expires
header is OK...
Is a 200 OK response requiring the Session-Timer
without the Supported header correct? - This is FINE
.... 200
OK
.....
Require: timer
Session-Expire: 3000, refresher=uac
I think the UAC should perform the refresh because
the Require header is present even if the Supported is not present.
I think in "draft-ietf-sip-session-timer-11.txt"
is not clear if the Support header must be present into the response.
[ABN] :: It is something like this.
If UAS decides that UAC need to refresh then only 200 OK carries the Require
header. Otherwise it does not need carry that(require) header or supported
header. The suported header in
INVITE carries the info that UAC supports the session and not been inserted in
between by Proxies...
Let me know your opinion
Regards
Lorenzo
