you may be right as the SIP trace from my snom 200 phone indicates that the invite request i am sending is treated as bad request. I guess I have to look into that a bit more.

yes if you send an INVITE w/o SDP you should receive a SDP offer in the 200 OK and then send the SDP answer in the ACK.
But as I'm 100% sure that the snom 200 supports this I guess that something else most be wrong with your INVITE or your test. What does the phone reply? How looks your INVITE?

I always thought If i send an INVITE request without and SDP i still should get an "200 OK" back, but when i do that using Kphone 4.03 or snom 200 i dont get a "200 OK" response. Is my assumption true (i.e. if i send an invite request without an SDP should i get a response)? if yes, then does anyone know why am not getting it?
