I can confirm the statement. SER is dual-licensed with GPL being the open-source
license. The stack is a deply integrated part of the server and is ahrd to
extract. A way some applications use SER as stack is through its IPC
mechanism (FIFO-based now, unix-sockets on development branch). SEMS is
example of one such application.
