Hi all!!

I was wondering if it is somehow possible to indicate in the Offer the
local port where the caller is going to start sending media from. For
some security reasons it would be convenient to have this information in
the callee's UA before start receiving media packets from an unknown
port.
Regarding the IP address: I guess the caller's media IP address can be
considered almost always the same as the one present in the c= line of
the SDP Offer , but for some third control applications (which I can not
imagine now) it might be possible to use another media IP as the source
(?).

If I understand correctly the RFC 3264, the Offer includes media
parameters where the callee should send his/her media to, but no
mechanism to indicate the port from which the caller is going to send
media from.
In a sendrecv stream, the caller's source port is deducted from the
Offer (isn't it?) but in uni-directional streams, the local port only
indicates where the callee should send the RTCP so the source's RTP
stream is uncertain until the other UA starts receiving the RTP
packets.

I have also checked the RFC 3407 (Simple Capability Declaration) but to
my understanding I think it is not appropriate for indicating the local
IP/port because this parameters are different for each created session
and not a UA's capability. Moreover it does not include these
parameters....

I hope I was clear enough and you can clarify and help me,
Thanks in advance,
Samuel
