  SIP is /'not'/ wrong protocol for MMS. U can use MSRP protocol in SIP based 
sessions for sending MMS messages. Refer to MSRP draft in IETF SIMPLE working 
group for more information.

I think SIP is the wrong protocol for sending MMS messages. AFAIK they 
are typically sent using SMTP or HTTP.
