Hi Harish,

Please refer RFC 3310 which is about Digest-AKA. The nonce is a
base64 encoding of the concatenation of RAND, AUTN and server specific
data. So on running a base64 decode, you will get the original string
from which the first 128-bits are the RAND and the next 128-bits are the
AUTN.

Hi Subhash,
The information you provided really helped me in finding the
answer for my query. In fact I have found TS35.206, which describes
these functions.
I have one more question. Please let me know that how client
knows the RAND (Randon challege) and AUTN (Authentication token).

So far I understood that these parameters are extracted from
nonce value sent by the server.
If it is true that please let me know how these are extracted.

Thanks
Harish

Hi Harish,
Take a look at the 35 series (Security Algorithms) of
3GPP
Technical Specifications for details on these algorithms.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] HELP ME: questions regarding AKA
implementation

Hi All,
I am implementing AKA (Authentication and Key agreement for SIP
client. I was going through 3GPP TS 33.102 V4.4.0. It is mentioned in
this
document that SIP client calculates MAC and RES using f1 and f2. where
f1
and f2 are message authentication functions for calculating MAC and RES.
I
tried to find what these functions are. So far I did not find any
information on it.

Please help me and let me know what are these functions.

Thanks in advance.
Harish
