Hi Ramu,
1) Using Via Header, stateless proxy can forward the responses back to the
caller.
>From RFC 3261
"Each proxy uses the Via header field to determine where
to send the response and removes its own address from the top."
2) Call stateful proxy can provide the billing service.

Thangarajan.

Hi Thangarajan,
Thanks for the information.
By the by, you have mentioned that call-stateful
proxies provides a rich set of services based on the
information that has been stored by them. Can i know
what are those services?
And, regarding stateless-proxies, you have said that
these proxies forget about the requests after they
have been forwarded. Then how do they forward
responses correctly to the caller? what are the
facilities provided by SIP protocol to help this?
Regards,
Ramesh
