Hi Dale,

If this is the case with a proxy, how would it declare the new IP
address?

Thanks & Regards,
Sachin

Subject: Re: [Sip-implementors] SIP in case of a IP change

I wonder if there is any solution in case the IP
   number change during a call:
In case the dhcp server gives an other IP while the
phone is used, how SIP manage this change? Does SIP
permit a phone to have his IP changed during a
   session?

Yes -- that's what a "target refresh" accomplishes. The phone should
send a re-INVITE using its new address as the Contact. This will
cause the agent at the other end of the dialog to update its knowledge
of the phone's address.
