Folks: I have just submitted connect-reuse-09 that includes Dale's and Hadriel's extensive WGLC review.
The following is a synopsis of changes: - Added definitions for persistent connections, connect reuse and shared connections. - Updated S2 to stress that connection reuse is best done for TLS; for TCP and SCTP it should only be used with certain caveats. - Took out S5.2 and S5.3. - Added text saying that the alias table is not mandatory. - Considerably shortened S9.3 (Security considerations for TCP transports). - The malware and hi-jacking scenario is fairly convoluted to follow; replaced it with Hadriel's suggestion to keep it simple. - Redid the discussion on virtual servers based on Dale's review and subsequent WG discussion. The resulting section is much shorter and considerably clearer than before. The -09 version is available in the IETF archives for your review and comments: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-sip-connect-reuse-09.txt Thanks, - vijay -- Vijay K.
