Hello Olivier,

Thank you for guidance. Problem solved now. Probably there was a hidden underlying process using these ports (nothing seen in ps printout though). When I rebooted two machines, branch scenario is working now without needing to change ports

Cheers

Ismail

Hello Olivier,

This is what I have when I use –p key with sipp -sn branchs -p 5065

Unable to bind main socket, errno = 98 (Address already in use).

I tried with all port numbers between 5060-5067, same result.

Only after 5068 onwards it is working and I could see the normal call flow. However for practical purposes, I would like to use 5060 as port number.

How can I learn which other application is using 5060? Or is it reserved for something else?. When I listen to the port by using tcpdump I get nothing when SIPP is not active.

Cheers

Ismail

Ok, thanks.

On the branchs side, on what port does SIPp listen too? Is it possible that you have another application that listens on port 5060?
try to use
sipp -sn branchs -p 5065 and
sipp -sn branchc x.y.z.t :5065

Olivier.

Hello Olivier,

Thank you for prompt answer. Here are the .raw capture files that you could open with ethereal.

Cheers,

Hi,

this is strange. Can you send the Ethereal trace you have?

Olivier.

Hello everybody,

I am trying to use "Branchc" and "Branchs" scenarios.

I use two Linux Dell PCs within our company LAN. I had no problems with UAS and UAC scenarios before. UAS ran on X.X.33.5  and UAC ran on X.X.24.5. However with Branchc on X.X.24.5 and Branchs on X.X.33.5 my register message from client does not seem to be taken into account by the server.

From server I gave the command

./sipp –sn branchs –bg

After this, from client machine I gave

./sipp –sn branchc X.X.33.5

I am using the standard in-built scenarios but no reply from the server side and client starts to retransmit REGISTER after a while. I checked from ethereal that initial REGISTER arrives to X.X.33.5. (by setting tcpdump trace at server end, I could capture incoming traffic)

I am using latest unstable version but I also tried stable version, made no difference.

Is there anything wrong in what I am doing or am I forgetting something?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Ismail
