I solved a similar problem with the -trace_screen option. If SIPp exits cleanly, this option will dump information like what you watch if you run SIPp in the foreground. If SIPp doesn't exit cleanly, you can force the output by using "kill -SIGUSR2 [client SIPp sesion pid]".
I have been using this method for a few weeks now and it has been working great. ----- Roy Lavender -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Vinit Karandikar Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 10:16 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Sipp-users] Statistics when running SIPp in the background I ran 2 sipp sessions on the same machine pointing at an application sitting on a different box - one sipp session was acting as a client & one was a server. I ran them both as follows "nohup sipp ....host of options... -bg &" From what I could see, there was probably a fair amount of activity when I ran "top". I then sent a "kill -s SIGUSR1 [client SIPp sesion pid]" to the client SIPp session and a similar one later to the server SIPp session. I was hoping to see the summary statistics on messages sent/received/dropped (what I usually see on the screen) and what have you in the log file but I don't see anything. Am I doing something wrong ? I am going to kick off these sessions and let them run overnight. For that reason, I'd like to avoid running it with trace_err since the file size when I get in the next morning may be "stupid". Ideas ? Suggestions ? Thoughts ?
