Hello Melbourne,

Sipp is aimed at signalling traffic generation. The media support is limited,
you can send pre-recorded RTP streams, but not build RTP streams for sending it
(if I understand correctly what you mean by " use SIPp to provide the transport
protocol").

Sipp media features are described here:
http://sipp.sourceforge.net/doc/reference.html#Handling+media+with+SIPp

Objet : [Sipp-users] SIPp for audio transport

All:

I am testing voice codecs by encoding speech (that is stored in .wav
file format on a Windows PC)
using a voice encoder software (e.g., G.729D), and transmitting the
encoded speech over RTP/UDP/IP
to another windows box that has a voice decoder, to recover the speech.
I may add NIST Net in the media path to emulate network effects.
Can I use SIPp to provide the transport protocol?
If this is feasible, I would appreciate any pointers to accomplishing
this task.

I already have SIPp running on my Windows machines.
I also have a version of the OSIMS Core software running on a desktop
machine, and a REGISTER-INVITE scenario
for registering and session set-up via the OSIMS Core, if needed.

Thanks,

Melbourne
