We wanted to inform you that Intel has just contributed a SIPp based
open source implementation (partial) of the IMS/NGN Performance
Benchmark, ETSI specification TS 186 008.
It is referred to as the "IMS Bench SIPp" and is comprised of a modified
version of SIPp, supporting scenario files and tools for configuring and
automating the benchmark and for generating reports.
You can learn more about it on the SIPp web site at
http://sipp.sourceforge.net/ims_bench/. The Introduction section has a
high-level list of the features introduced. The Reference Documentation
section has detailed installation and usage instructions.
Note that, thanks to the flexibility of SIPp and of the new features
introduced, IMS Bench SIPp is not only suitable for testing IMS core
networks, as targeted by the IMS/NGN Performance Benchmark
specification, but also for benchmarking standalone SIP proxies, SIP
application servers, B2BUAs, etc., whether they are IMS compliant or
not. And this can be done while still benefiting from the large-scale
benchmarking capabilities, the deep automation, and the report
generation functionality of IMS Bench SIPp.
