Hi,
I was wondering, does anyone have a test script or call scenario
generator for SIPp where the input is an ethereal/etc. network trace
capture? I know such an output script may need to be fine tuned and
customized but at least it would give one a barebone call scenario
without the user having to write one up in XML from scratch.
It could be helpful for novice SIP testings and SIPp users as well as
help QA people save time from creating the files from scratch or
modifying them from existing files or templates. They could just perform
all their SIP tests manually recording a trace capture of the activity
and run it through such a generator/converter tool to get the desired
output files and then tweak them as needed.
In a sense the SIP responses from the trace capture is what should be
validated in the call scenario by SIPp, for any needed validation. The
generated script would simply simulate or replay what was captured from
the trace file. Though of course, we QA folks could/would parameterize
the SIP user/extensions involved along with the other data rather than
use a static config embedded the XML.
If one doesn't exist, would anyone be able to create one easily? I'd
like to try but am not familiar with SIPp and the SIP protocol at the
moment as testing this area has not been my responsibility at work
(yet).
Appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
David
