Are you saying this is not correct?
The facility for user-configured setting is to accommodate needs that are not forseen at present. Hence, it would be hard to state now that there will never bee a need to vary user-configured settings between hosts. At the least, there are various config items relating to interconnection between the components that vary between hosts, so I would hardly be surprised to discover that new config items will vary between hosts. Now I don't know what planning meeting you are talking about, perhaps it happened while I was fixing customers in Seattle, but I provided a description in http://list.sipfoundry.org/archive/sipx-dev/msg11142.html of some (IMHO) mandatory features, things that the new scheme must support, if we are to avoid crippling the development process. So far, I have seen no clear discussion of how the new scheme will support them.
