You do not need any special provisions for that. If you have DID configured you can just use the same dial rule that you use for users. Or you can play with conference aliases (you have 2 - name and extension). However I was thinking that sipXconfig could provide an explicit DID dial rule that strips the DID prefix and (optionally) adds internal prefix. All that is possible using custom dial rule today but custom dial rule UI is a bit too complicated.
