We could certainly have sipXconfig generate Polycom profiles that contain EFK programming to achieve certain functionality. XCF-2727 was closed because in hindsight I don't think it would be practical to enable programming of Polycom EFK in some generalized fashion. But what is the desired functionality? As you have already found, XCF-2989 covers single button "blindxfer" on Polycoms using EFK. For send to "vmxfer", I assume this would be for an established call? You can already transfer an established call to your VM inbox extension. With a speed dial you can accomplish this in three button pushes ("Trnsfer" -> "Blind" -> speed dial.) With XCF-2989 implemented this would be reduced to two button pushes ("Trnsfer" -> speed dial.) Polycom EFK could I suppose save one button push and also put the action on a softkey (thereby saving a speed dial key.) My feeling is the incremental benefit might not be worth the effort on this one though. XECS-196 has already been implemented in 4.0 allowing Polycoms to retrieve parked calls with a single BLF speed dial button push. (This actually works for any phone that implements BLF ringing call pickup.) The park currently requires three button pushes, but with XCF-2989 implemented this also would be reduced to two button pushes. I already looked into EFK when scoping XECS-196, and could not find a way to park with a single button push if that same button is also to be used for single button retrieve. As for speed dials using star codes, this is now permitted in 4.0 (XCF-2798, since revision 13386.) It doesn't use macros for the star codes, but are they likely to be changed often enough to warrant the added complexity of macros? If so the macro substitution would be best handled by sipxconfig during profile generation, instead of using EFK. This would also make the macros general purpose, rather than Polycom specific. Other than the speed dial macro substitution, do you agree that the desired functionality is covered? -Paul paul.moss...@nortel.com _______________________________________________ sipx-dev mailing list sipx-dev@list.sipfoundry.org List Archive: http://list.sipfoundry.org/archive/sipx-dev Unsubscribe: http://list.sipfoundry.org/mailman/listinfo/sipx-dev
