It doesn't seem to be a serious problem for me since it came back up on it's own nicely, but obviously should be looked into.

I noticed about 3 core files during my testing phase (mostly with 4.0.0), don't know if those are the same bug or not. Since my 4.0.0 was somewhat broken and 4.0.1 was on it's way I didn't really bother investigating.

I'll delete this core and if it happens again and I can get a useful back trace I'll post here again.
