pointedly, i usually re-install if IP or domain names change. In addition to what gerald posted re: ip address, you would also have to update named sipdomain zone file and also restart named.
if those won't work, I would reinstall, not install on the same VM. It's trivial to reinstall on standalone or virtual hardware and I just don't suffer changing on the fly.
