No, I build from source into a target directory.  In my case the target
directory is /usr/local/ecs/svn/ which I defined using 
../configure --prefix=/usr/local/ecs/svn/ before building.

I'm not sure what the default target directory is called.

I use firefox browser (3.0.4) to run sipXconfig.  The initial URL I
access is https://<browserName>:8443/sipxconfig/app
It takes a few moments for sipXconfig to start.

It also worked with firefox 2.something.

Since I moved to firefox 3.0.4, it forces me to accept the non-standard
certificate manually the first time the certificate is used.

I haven't tried opera lately, but previous versions of opera and/or
sipXconfig didn't work properly (not sure why).

Now I have told you more than I actually know.
