That's a great idea Todd. As an integrator, it is beyond my abilities
to develop the proper programming stuff that is required to get a new
phone going. There may be instances however that a customer would
actually like to pay to have that done and if we had some resources to
pull from it would be great.

Subject: [sipx-users] Aastra Phones support

Hi,

We all know that Aastra phones are one of the phones that are supported
in sipX and we should be able to automatically deploy these phone using
tftp.

But has anyone noticed that when we try to add a Aastra 53i we can set
everything up except for the programmable keys?

The only way I know to actually program these keys is to manually edit
the <MAC>.cfg file under the tftp directory. Also xml scripts are not
available at all for these buttones.

Am I correct? Is that going to be fixed in future release? Or am I
completely out of sync.

Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong. But this is an open source project. We all
have the opportunity to create solutions for the integration of any
telephone, media gateway or other products that we want. Are there
people out there that are for hire for developing the necessary coding
to support these phones if someone needs it? I'm sure there are, I've
just never seen anyone advertise it on these lists.

Maybe a link on the website of programmers that register themselves for
hire for creating software when someone needs it done? Maybe a page for
advertising their services for development of custom code for things of
this nature. Seems like a great way to contribute to the project is to
develop a solution for it and donate it back to the community.
