Does the EDE provide me the GUI, that is the main reason I want to install
sipX...and I want the option to keep modify the code too.

When I run #sstart and then look for processes running for sipx...I get
hundreds of these...I am running sstart as root is that a problem?

[r...@ss_freeswitch ~]# ps -ef|grep sipx

Getting stuck in the sipxecs-sonfig thinking I don't have my hostname resolve
to an Ip address which it does

[r...@ss_freeswitch dialplan]# ping ss_freeswitch.xx.com
PING ss_freeswitch.xx.com (x.x.x.x) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from ss_freeswitch.xx.com (x.x.x.x) icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.042 ms

--- ss_freeswitch.simplesignal.com ping statistics ---
8 packets transmitted, 8 received, 0% packet loss, time 7000ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.027/0.031/0.042/0.006 ms
[r...@ss_freeswitch dialplan]# cat /etc/hosts
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
x.x.x.x ss_freeswitch.xx.com
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
#::1            localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
[r...@ss_freeswitch dialplan]#

Any ideas?

Yes, CentOS 5.2 and 5.3 should both work.

You won't need to do this step, because CentOS 5 allows you to specify a
static IP address during the OS install.

BTW if you do try the Express Development Environment (EDE), post any
questions or issues to the sipx-dev list. (Once your subscriptions
comes through that is.)
