Staffan,

Please shoot me a sanitized config or just strip out pw info and I can
adjust the rest for the Wiki.

Thanks,

                Mike

Hi

Are you sure you have DSPs installed in the router (PVDM2-8/16/32/64)?
DSPs are needed to convert TDM voice to IP voice. Make sure you have the
DSPs installed and the ISDN interface (se 0/0/0:23) should pop up once
you set the pri-group timeslots command on the controller.

Also, T-track IOS is in my opinioin the best IOS if you wanna do VoIP,
and SIP. (12.4.24T2 being the latest I think)

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Best regards,

/Staffan

I have tried using 12.2 Mainline IP Enterprise and 12.4 Voice to Voice

command and the pri-group timeslots command in the controller. Without
this I cannot get a serial interface at 0/0/0:23. The closest I got was
with the voice to voice gateway image which had the voice-card option,
but would not let me set it. I wish I new what feature enabled the
pri-group command, then I could just use the Cisco IOS advisor.

I am going to try a 12.4 Mainline Enterprise IP image. Maybe that will
do the trick.

Thanks

What IOS are you using?

Thanks everyone for the posts. This has been most helpful. I have found
several examples online when searching "cisco pstn gateway", most of the
config examples are for Asterisk, but the basics should be the same. The
problem I am running into is none of the examples are going into detail
about the hardware they are using or the IOS image.

Currently I am trying to use a 3662 with a VWIC-2MFT-T1 but I am having
trouble getting the IOS allowing me to setup the controller as a voice
card. This might be a limitation on the router or my IOS image. I don't
know yet.

I would gladly submit a sanitized config if I can get this working. I
may switch to a 2611XM router, they are a little newer and maybe are
supported better from Cisco on the voice side.

Staffan,

Perhaps a sanitized config file would help all involved. I can post it
to the Wiki also.

Thanks,

                Mike

Hi

I'm using Cisco routers as gateway (PRI, FXS, FXO) with SipX with great
success. The routers are quite flexible in how they

may be used with SipX and compared to Audiocodes configuration GUI (if
you're used to Cisco CLI) the Cisco is a dream...

For best SIP functionality I would recommend a IP Voice IOS in the
T-track.

Best regards,

What IOS should I be using? I am planning on using an old 3662 that I

most IOS images work?

Works great, just add as an unmanaged gateway and build a few dial-peers
in the router.

Has anyone ever used a Cisco router with a VWIC as the PSTN gateway? I
have a lot of cisco equipment here and it would be nice to use that
instead of buying an audiocodes or other gateway. I know the Asterisk
guys have done it, just wondering if it is compatible with SIPX?
