Why is on phone registered with the Audiocodes? What purpose does that
server?

Is your MP112 an FXS gateway? If so, there is probably something with your
dialplan that leaves the dialstring openended. Try dialing from the analog
handset and end the dialstring with the "#" key, which should speed up the
process.

If DNS is setup properly, you should be registered via the sip domain name,
not the IP or hostname. Did you run preflight tests?

Try registering two softphones and calling between the two, your results
might be partly based on using an IP address to register, the other might be
an AudioCodes gateway configuration that needs to be sorted out.
