There are currently people using static registrations on sipXecs. I have one customer with three static registration on three gateways. Works flawlessly.
However, I have not updated them to 4.2 yet. At least in 4.2.0 I can recover the failed call. If voip.ms can't support it, than that is one thing. If generically, sipx can't support static registrations than that is another issue. My hopes is that these is someone on this list that has a different provider, using static registrations (on port 5080).
