are you saying that when you fix the phone at G.711 it works FINE? than you have a codex problem. AA and vmail use G.711 only. or, maybe the issue is: call comes in G.729, hits AA, AA wants to regegotiate to G.711, and ITSP won't allow it. (maybe). Im not an expert, not even a novice yet, but, if that doesn't help, then as they say, you need full traces.
