Yay I implemented that and the password field is now obfuscated.
For those that wish to know: apply that patch in that Jira ticket to to /usr/share/java/sipXecs/sipXconfig/sipxconfig.war\WEB-INF\vm\MailboxPreferencesForm.html
NOTE: sipxconfig.war is a compressed file (zip). Use WinSCP and your favorite ZIP program to make this change.
NOTE: you'll need to restart sipXconfig after making this change for this to work
NOTE: make sure the ownership of sipxconfig.war stays as sipxchange:sipxchange
