I had to restore a 4.0.4 server today. I don't want to talk about it...
Looks like it was my own fault.
Anyway, the restore never seemed to finish according to the web
interface. It never redirected to the login screen, and I couldn't
access the interface if I pulled it up manually. I got a security error
of some sort. No, I didn't write it down.
The backup files were on FTP. It took 30 15 min to back it up (about 700
mb). I gave it 30 minutes to restore, and then gave up and restarted the
sipx services. All is relatively well now. The SSL certs were not
restored. I had a custom cert with a CA cert installed. I redid those
manually.
When I check a few voicemail boxes now, it saying they have X number of
unheard messages. This seems to be the case on all I check. Is this
expected? I doubt they all really had that meany unheard messaged. It
isn't saying they are new. IF it is expected, that id fine. I just need
to know exactly what to expect.
I hope the restore completely worked. I don't know if maybe something
about my SSL cert setup caused it to die there. Is there anything else I
should make a poitn of looking for to see if there are any issues? I
tested everything I could think of.
Sipx 4.0.4, sixbridge, Verizon VOIP, No firewall (not needed, private
connection), Polycom 450s and 550s - bootrom 4.2.1, firmware 3.1.3C split

Thanks,
Matthew
