looks like (almost random) decisions on the sipx 4.2.0 dial plans on how it matches 'near match' plans.

It is not like you can 'stack' dial plans in priority order.

it looks like its more of a 'best match first' type of thing. (so you would need to know the internals before you can actually predict which dial plan it will run). example: the 'toll free' match, it happens not because the TF plan is first in the list, but that 8667326276 matches (866|800|888|877) closer than (1)(10 digits), right?

If I am wrong, please let me know.

Looking to (better) implement E.164 dial translations on sipx 4.2.0 without an SBC.

if anyone has done this, without an SBC, please let me know what you did0

I find that inbound called id isn't such a big deal, but since we separate out users who can dial international vs local vs long distance, I wanted to make sure I had it right.

inbound calls now have +1 in them (level3 els trunks are E.164 compliant now. will take outpulsing of +1(NPANXXnnnn) for us, 1(NPANXXnnnn) or (all except for toll free, (NPANXXnnnn)

for intl, will take 011CC(x) where CC is country code, and x is a bunch of numbers.

challenge is 'return call'. you see a +1 number on the screen, you hit 'call back' (of course YOU can't dial the + unless its in a speed dial you entered in the gui)

so, outbound dial plan will need to match (NPANXXnnnn), 1(*) and +1(*). with ld permissions, and (in our case, 561) (561NXXnnnn), 1(*) and +1(*) for local,

(you CAN't add + to the gateway, in case you hit return call for a call with +1 anyway)
