Hi Bob,

I have a problem with re intitializing the sipxphone.  When the internet connection is enabled again and I call unititialize, the phone crashes.  Why is this so?

Joseph

Hi Joseph,

The answer is yes.

sipXtapi cannot handle your IP address changing; however, should
handle your connection bouncing.  With that said, I don't believe it
handles your connection bouncing very well under windows...  When I
last looked, some of the internal communications sockets (bound on
127.0.0.1) were disconnected and we did not have any code to recover
from that.  It may work on other platforms.  ... This doesn't explain
the registration problem, but suggests a reinitialize.

If you detect that your network has been restarted, I recommend
calling sipxUnInitialize and then sipxInitialize (... I also think we
have a sipxReInitialize).
