Hi,

No, all my observations were on a single machine. I tested against the local
loopback address.

Now I have done all tests on different machines...

When a call is made from a faster machine to a slower one the cracking noise
happens, but when I make a call from slower one to the faster one then all is
fine.

I may add that I'm using Brekeke OnDO SIP server and it's installed on my
faster machine. I have done all testing against my sipXtapi based UA's.

Phonerlite doesn't record the sounds. Can you tell me of any softphone that
does this? I will record and send it to you.

I have uploaded the Ethereal traces of many sessions and uploaded them over
here - http://www.sgssoft.com/crosstalk/traces.zip. I had the following
observations:

a.. Crashing sound is heard when a call is made from faster machine to slower
one.
a.. The crashing sound is heard *only* during the first call. All calls
after that seem to work fine.
b.. Crahing sound is heard when I use ยต-Law, GSM, and Speex. A-Law seems to
work fine but after 5 or atmost 20 seconds there is no sound.
b.. All is fine when a call from slower machine to faster one is made.
c.. There are no problems when I use the patch send by Dieter.

All those observations were on a single machine and it seem to work with GSM
and Speex. I have now tested on separate machines and told my observations.

I will be out of town for sometime, as I come back I will try to help in
whatever way I can.

Thanks,
Hitesh
