I guess the slowing depends from one DNS server to other. A friend of mine 
was also able to register and make calls in no time.

Hmmm, never heard of this before, make sure the VC++ 7.1 runtime dlls 
(msvcr71.dll and msvcp71.dll) are installed on your machine.
