So at least on Windows, users may prefer to use something like VAC. Can the
sipXmediaLib instead be run inside the kernel to handle all multiple calls
doing media playback, recording, routing to/from devices etc?

It is different in that VAC is written as low-level Windows driver, while
sipXmediaLib is user-space multiplatform library.
